This ‘sew along’ live card making tutorial is accessed via Zoom on Wednesday 21st January at 10:00 GMT
Hosted by Sarah (who’ll be sewing along too) you’ll join a small group of participants to learn 3 different sewing techniques all stitched freehand enabling you to create a variety of effects. We’ll be stitching 3 different grasses and the techniques learned in this class can be applied to many other projects!
This online class is ideally suited to those who have previously viewed Sarah’s Online Masterclass Tutorial or who have experienced a little freehand machine embroidery wishing to progress further with the technique whilst under Sarah’s guidance.
The class is limited to just 8 places so that support is available to all throughout.

YOU WILL NEED –
Obviously your sewing machine! Please set it up in advance, lower the feed dog and attach an embroidery/darning foot (an open toe foot will give you much better visibility)
- A bobbin wound with the same coloured thread as the top thread – I’d recommend a dark coloured thread if you’re sewing onto a pale fabric
- Set your machine speed (if it has this function) to MEDIUM – You do not have to alter the stitch length
- A 75/11 0r 80/12 sized needle
- A piece of plain light coloured fabric – calico is fine
- Frixion pen or equivalent to draw a template of the grasses to follow (download and print this from the image provided or draw freehand)
- 6-8 inch wooden embroidery hoop
- Small snips or scissors
IMPORTANT CLASS INFORMATION
The class will last approximately 1 hour.
You will receive a Zoom invite with a clickable link, meeting ID and password for signing in to the class approx. 2 days before the class date. Please check your inbox/junk mail folders. Use the link to enter the class on the day.
Please check that your sewing machine is able to sew freehand and is set up before the class starts – due to the class structure Sarah cannot offer much support if there is a problem with your machine.
Only registered participants may join the class. The zoom link is for your own personal use only and cannot be shared. Anyone joining the class without a confirmed registration will be removed from the session.
This is an interactive online class with cameras switched on therefore for privacy reasons it will not be recorded. I politely ask that you do not screen record the session.
If you’re unable to attend you may request a full refund up to 48hrs before the class. Unfortunately refunds cannot be issued within 48hrs of the class start time.
